About us
Guides for a more curious world.
Every place has a story. We help people discover the stories behind places and give creators the tools to share them through self-guided experiences.
Our story
Our story
Travel creates understanding.
We’ve always loved travelling for the stories and the local perspectives you don’t get from a map. The people, culture and histories behind a place make exploring somewhere new - or even somewhere familiar - far more meaningful. Too often though, those experiences depend on finding the right guide at the right time, in the right language.
Guides.app helps make guided storytelling and local perspectives accessible without depending on finding the right guide, at the right time, in the right language.
We connect people with knowledge to share with those curious to discover it. Through self-guided experiences, we’re making it easier to explore places through the stories and perspectives of people who know them best.
Our mission
Bringing the world’s stories to life.
Make local stories and knowledge accessible anywhere and at any time through self-guided experiences.
We believe local knowledge and stories should be accessible to everyone, wherever and whenever they choose to explore. Guides helps independent creators and organisations turn what they know into self-guided walks and tours, bringing each stop to life for the world to experience.

More exploration more meaningful
Inspire people to look beyond familiar landmarks and discover deeper connections with the places they explore.
A more thoughtful future
Places. People. Stories.
We want to encourage exploration that celebrates local voices, respects cultural heritage and inspires a deeper appreciation of the world around us.
